I heart good movies

my mom, courtney and i saw this in the movie theaters when it first came out. it was only playing at jordan commons and only one showing a day. i don't know why, i thought it was cute, creative and quirky. however, i didn't appreciate the fact she was having an affair! i think the movie would have been even better if they changed the marital status of the doctor. i watched it again yesterday, and just like the first time, i had urges to become a professional pie baker or at least buy a pretty and shiny kitchen aid mixer.

fyi: adrienne shelly, the actress in the movie who wears the funky glasses, actually wrote and directed the movie. she was murdered in her n.y apartment before it was released at the sundance film festival. really sad! she never got to see her work up on the big screen.

Thanksgiving Highlights

1. Unfortunately, being in the basement when my uncle thought HE was the only one in the basement and hearing him rip the loudest tootertwinkle. lol. I couldn't look him in the face for the rest of the night.

2. Eating tons of yummy food but not over doing it.

3. Going to see Enchanted with the entire Bell clan Thanksgiving afternoon.

4. Watching the entire first season of my new favorite TV show Friday Night Lights with Courtney. I now have a crush on several fictional characters. All I gotta say is Riggins is fetchin' hot stuff. Watch it!

5. Thinking about doing homework but not actually doing any of it.

6. Seeing August Rush with good friends. I really liked this show! It had a good message and good music. I've already downloaded a couple songs.

Highlights reviewed: Basically, I sat around all weekend eating food and watching the boobtube. I think my fatass (pronounced fa-toss) is permanently molded in the couch. Ahhh *sigh* what a GREAT weekend.

I'm thankful for my FAMILY!

***Warning: this post contains sappy material. Readers discretion is advised.***
I’m dumbfounded. I really don’t know what I did to deserve such a great family! They are my best friends, my loudest cheerleaders and my rock. For starters, I have the greatest parents. I’ll be forever grateful for the sacrifices they have made to see me and my siblings succeed in life. They’ve cheered me on in my successes and cried with me during my disappointments. They’ve pushed me to be better even when I didn’t want to be pushed…which I’m so grateful for. They’ve listened to my wacky ideas and my complaining with open ears. Gee, I really am so lucky and thankful! I really would be lost without them...I luv ya both!
My little brother: I love this little man. He constantly cracks me up! He calls himself Kade Leno, there are so many hilarious stories I will have to post. I remember the night my mom announced she was pregnant with him. I think we all cried, Ryan and I because we were so embarrassed and Chelsey and Courtney because they were so excited. Now I can’t imagine my life without him. He’s so lovable. I love Kader because: we cuddle, play tag, watch TV together, ride our old yellow two-seater bike around the neighborhood and he's always there to give me a big hug at the end of an ugly day.My little sisters: It really doesn’t register that they are “younger” because they are so smart and wise. Chelsey IS all grown up and has managed to find a fabulous hunky husband named Zach (who is ALL that AND a bag of chips). I really admire both lil sisters. I see how they’re reaching their goals and it inspires me to do the same. We have a lot of the same passions and hobbies. And, you know when someone just “gets” you? Well, they do. I love spending time with them whether it’s going to the movies, window shopping at boutiques, talking on the phone or sharing the water tube at Lake Powell. Gosh! I sure do love them…I hope one day I’ll be just like them! My big brother: My dad and brother have set a very high standard for my future hunky husband. If I could find someone with just half their qualities…I’d be a lucky lady. I work with Ryan and I am continually amazed of his patience! I've very rarely seen him angry. He’s mostly just a big goof ball and I really love it. I think the smartest thing he’s ever done was marry Marci. Oh and how I love the both of them! I am so pumped to be an aunt. I’m already stocking up on gum.

I'm in Heaven

Should I feel stupid for tearing up while watching Celine on Oprah yesterday? Yes, I should...BUT I don't! I'm proud of my geeky allegiance to Celine Dion. She just released a new cd today--Taking Chances. I became a devoted fan when I first heard The Power of Love playing while skating at the 49th Street Galleria for my 10th birthday party. I bought my first cassette tape-- the Beauty and the Beast soundtrack so I could listen to Tale is Old as Time. Foxy Brown and I would listen and sing along to albums Lets Talk about Love and Falling into You while playing Nintendo. I can listen to If That's What it Takes repeatedly without EVER getting sick of it! The song I'm Alive reminds me of my spring semester of my freshman year in college. I can go on and on, every song has a memory. So CHEESY...I know! I love her new single Taking Chances you can listen to it HERE.

Delete Button

Ughh...I recently had a very awkward conversation! In my head I heard myself yelling "Shut up! NO REALLY stop talking!" But instead, word vomit continued to tumble out. The thing that gets me is I was aware of my lameness but couldn't stop it. To add insult to injury I can't remember how the conversation ended. This is probably because I've been trying to black it out ever since it happened. I do, however, have slight recollections of me pretending to hear someone over my shoulder and slowly turning away. I wish I could simply hit DELETE and call it good.

Speaking of DELETE buttons, I wish I could do the same for homework. If you don't hear from me again...it's because I died a slow and painful death of homeworkitis. It's a terrible disease that causes serious brain damage and massive weight gain. Prolonged symptoms have been known to cause death. Wish me luck!

24 Things to do before I turn 25

Wow, where have the years gone? I have exactly 5 months until I turn 25. Depressing! SO, instead of slitting my wrists I am going to try to accomplish the following items:

1. Graduate from College.
2. Pay off my credit card.
3. Find a permanent crush.
4. Become the world’s best aunt.
5. Run 5 miles without stopping. (ain’t no marathon)
6. Buy a whole new wardrobe.
7. Make more jewelry.
8. Finish scrapbooking my Europe trip.
9. Really start Photobooth Friday club.
10. Fill up my entire postcard book.
11. Buy some really trendy shoes.
12. Read the Book of Mormon.
13. Plan our next trip. Hmmm…where to go?
14. Go 40 days without sugar.
15. Go 40 days without bread.
16. Do something SO out of character no one will believe I did it.
17. Start digital scrapbooking.
18. Become the official cupcake queen.
19. Keep a gratitude journal.
20. Become a pro at Photoshop.
21. Go through the temple.
22. Start a Polaroid picture book.
23. Take an institute class.
24. Whiten my teeth.

I'll, of course, document and update my status by blogging. I think number 3 will be the most difficult (please say a prayer or a few hail Marys for me). Achieving number 6 might thwart accomplishing number 2. I'm excited to plan something for number 16. And, I might just wait to accomplish number 21 when I'm 25...we'll see.

Halloween Fun

How NOT to get a boyfriend:

Willy, Hank, Bubba, & Marge
Our singles ward had a costume party at the church last Monday. I really can't even tell you what we dressed up as...Fugly (fetching ugly) people? Our dads' had these beards and Sister #2 found her grandma's old wig and everything just came together. No one, not even our close friends, knew who we were. I didn't have a problem with that. We left our glasses on all night. It's one thing to put a costume on at home and get a good laugh but I must admit we were a little hesitant to show off our fugliness. Billy Bob, Bubba, Willy, Marge & Hank Hank & Bubba Marge & Willy Hank & Marge participated in the costume contest and won us trip to St. Jorge!

Lesson learned: Looking fugly pays off.

How to TRY to get a boyfriend:

Sexy Fallen Angel (Formerly known as Marge) and Sexy Devil (Formerly known as Bubba)
Sexy Cowgirl (Formerly known as Willy) and Sexy Gothgirl (Formerly known as Hank)

My costume awards:

Jellyfish wins: Most Creative

Fighter Pilot wins: Most Interactive
Lumiere & Feather Duster win: Cutest Couple

Feather Duster was the hostest with the mostest! We had the funnest Halloween Party at her house last Friday! We had lots of fun dressing up. We felt we really had to redeem ourselves.

Step 1: Find the perfect pumpkin.

Step 2: Prepare your pumpkin for its future greatness.

Step 3: Spend hours carving every little detail.

Celine Dion wishes you a very Happy Halloween!

Tagged- Everything you didn't want to know.

1. I only write with Sharpie ultra fine point markers. At school I choose a new fun color each day. At work I keep it professional and classy and go with black.

2. I just learned how to crochet. I started using my new skills as a diet plan (crochet while everyone else was eating) but it didn't stick. I started to eat the yarn...haha I'm joking.

3. I tell people that I love to play tennis and scrapbook but I haven't done either for years.

4. I collect postcards from around the world. Here's how I do it: postcrossing.com

5. I just got my first press release published in a newspaper. This is very ironic for me. I hate to write! I had to write a paper for school a couple months ago and I was really struggling! I finally went upstairs to get some sympathy from my Mom. I asked her, "Ahhh! Why is this so hard for me? Do I have a learning disability?" I thought she would quickly reply "NO" but instead she said, "Uhh...maybe." In my Mom's defense my paper really did suck. I wish I was better at grammar. I typically throw in commas wherever they "look" good. I, know, it, probably, drives, people, nuts. SORRY!

6. I feel like I am constantly stressed and overwhelmed (even when I shouldn't be). I can't wait until school is OVER! Here are my favorite stress relievers: watching a movie, reading a book, eating, reading gossip magazines, shopping for jewelry, getting a pedicure and reading blogs.

7. Here are 10 things I want to be when I grow up: Mom, wife, jewelry designer, photographer, real estate mogul, professional scrapbooker, make-up artist, graphic designer, entrepreneur, and a personal trainer.

Random Acts of Kissing

Ok. So, I'm seriously getting some lip action lately! I sound like an over-confident slut BUT hear me out. Many of you know that my kissing career, as of late, has been nothing to brag about but my stats are on the rise. Over the past couple weeks I've had several (2) guys randomly kiss me. First off, I can't blame them (I'm surprised they've restrained this long). Second, I'm definitely not complaining! Since they were both jokes...I feel that I'm allowed to blog about them.* The first kiss doesn't really deserve space in this blog because it was only half a peach.**(HP if you happen to be reading this, you had really soft lips).

Ok...are you ready....wait for it...this is really good!!! My "ex" Crush totally laid one on me! Since, there are some lingering feelings I'll will drop the "ex" and call him Crush. I will give you the Highlights and lowlights of the unexpected kiss.

Highlight: It was his idea.

Highlight: Our lips touching.

Lowlight: Me remembering I ate onion potatoes for dinner.

Highlight: Crush went in for "pear" kiss.

Lowlight: I went in for a "peach" kiss. This made for an awkward kiss.

Highlight: I had a witness to prove it actually happened.

Lowlight: Not having any privacy during this magical moment.

For those who are shocked beyond measure, please do not make a big deal out of this (IE. tell everyone you know or go announce to Crush that I blogged about him). Just share this unexpected happy moment with me. And, please do not refer to me as lip slut, it's really not my fault that I have luscious lips.

*For those male readers who are wanting to date/kiss me, don't worry I'll never blog about our "relationship." That information is only privy to my mom, sisters, roomies and close friends. It will never be "public" information.

**Types of kisses: Peach, Pear, Plum & Alfalfa. (Hint: Notice the shape of your mouth when you say each fruit). If you still don't get it, leave a comment and I'll expand.

Saw it, loved it, had to BLOG it!

My favorite pick up line: "Is your last name Campbell? Cause...you're mm, mm GOOD!"

Side note: I wish people would start calling me "THE SOUP DEJOUR."

Why is "bra" singular and "panties" plural?

I got a funny email today. Thought I should share it...enjoy!

Can you cry under water?

How important does a person have to be before they are considered assassinated instead of just murdered?

Why do you have to "put your two cents in".. But it's only a "penny for your thoughts"? Where's that extra penny going to?

Once you're in heaven, do you get stuck wearing the clothes you were buried in for eternity?

Why does a round pizza come in a square box?

How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
Why is it that people say they "slept like a baby" when babies wake up like every two hours?

Why are you IN a movie, but you're ON TV?

Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground?

Why do doctors leave the room while you change? They're going to see you naked anyway?

Why do toasters always have a setting that burns the toast to a horrible crisp, which no decent human being would eat?

If corn oil is made from corn, and vegetable oil is made from vegetables, what is baby oil made from?

If electricity comes from electrons, does morality come from morons?

Do the Alphabet song and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star have the same tune?

Why did you just try singing the two songs above?

Did you ever notice that when you blow in a dog's face, he gets mad at you, but when you take him for a car ride, he sticks his head out the window?

Reminiscing

To the ladies who once lived in Raintree apt. 223,
(Me, Julie, Stacie, Jessie & Allie) is that how it went?
Does this picture bring back any memories? I came across this card at the store and it immediately brought back a flood of memories! Wow! I can't believe it's been 6 years! (I feel old) I look back on that year we spent together and smile...here's why:

-Water fights.
-Which led to participating in the BIGGEST prank ever! How many bags of leaves did we have, 12? It was LEGENDARY!
-Which then led to the duck in the living room.
-Music videos (Lady Marmalade was my favorite)
-Salt & Pepper...if i wanna take a guy home with me tonight...IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!
-Las Vegas, the Cheesecake Factory, fake accents and Lindsey Forbes' crazy roommate.
-Riding the bus with Stacie and Julie.
-Lori Bullock and her Star Wars poster in the kitchen. Do you remember Stacie's 1st roomy (the drugy and her drug dealer friends. Yikes!
-Watching Dan work on his car every Saturday and having him create our mix cd's.
-80's Music.
-Bomb fires in the middle of winter.
-Finally discovering the smell from Jessie and Allie's room (a 5 month old rotten squash under Jessie's bed).
-Getting fire extinguished after trying to throw the rotten squash in the garbage.
-Living off of Great Harvest bread and cookies.
-Jordan Smith and his really tight and short sweats.
-Air plane and motorcycle rides.
-Jessie's dating stories.
-Watching Stacie and Julie fall in love with their hubbies.
-The Olympics.

Thanks for all the fun times! I'll NEVER forget them!
