Thanksgiving Highlights

1. Unfortunately, being in the basement when my uncle thought HE was the only one in the basement and hearing him rip the loudest tootertwinkle. lol. I couldn't look him in the face for the rest of the night.

2. Eating tons of yummy food but not over doing it.

3. Going to see Enchanted with the entire Bell clan Thanksgiving afternoon.

4. Watching the entire first season of my new favorite TV show Friday Night Lights with Courtney. I now have a crush on several fictional characters. All I gotta say is Riggins is fetchin' hot stuff. Watch it!

5. Thinking about doing homework but not actually doing any of it.

6. Seeing August Rush with good friends. I really liked this show! It had a good message and good music. I've already downloaded a couple songs.

Highlights reviewed: Basically, I sat around all weekend eating food and watching the boobtube. I think my fatass (pronounced fa-toss) is permanently molded in the couch. Ahhh *sigh* what a GREAT weekend.

I'm thankful for my FAMILY!

***Warning: this post contains sappy material. Readers discretion is advised.***
I’m dumbfounded. I really don’t know what I did to deserve such a great family! They are my best friends, my loudest cheerleaders and my rock. For starters, I have the greatest parents. I’ll be forever grateful for the sacrifices they have made to see me and my siblings succeed in life. They’ve cheered me on in my successes and cried with me during my disappointments. They’ve pushed me to be better even when I didn’t want to be pushed…which I’m so grateful for. They’ve listened to my wacky ideas and my complaining with open ears. Gee, I really am so lucky and thankful! I really would be lost without them...I luv ya both!
My little brother: I love this little man. He constantly cracks me up! He calls himself Kade Leno, there are so many hilarious stories I will have to post. I remember the night my mom announced she was pregnant with him. I think we all cried, Ryan and I because we were so embarrassed and Chelsey and Courtney because they were so excited. Now I can’t imagine my life without him. He’s so lovable. I love Kader because: we cuddle, play tag, watch TV together, ride our old yellow two-seater bike around the neighborhood and he's always there to give me a big hug at the end of an ugly day.My little sisters: It really doesn’t register that they are “younger” because they are so smart and wise. Chelsey IS all grown up and has managed to find a fabulous hunky husband named Zach (who is ALL that AND a bag of chips). I really admire both lil sisters. I see how they’re reaching their goals and it inspires me to do the same. We have a lot of the same passions and hobbies. And, you know when someone just “gets” you? Well, they do. I love spending time with them whether it’s going to the movies, window shopping at boutiques, talking on the phone or sharing the water tube at Lake Powell. Gosh! I sure do love them…I hope one day I’ll be just like them! My big brother: My dad and brother have set a very high standard for my future hunky husband. If I could find someone with just half their qualities…I’d be a lucky lady. I work with Ryan and I am continually amazed of his patience! I've very rarely seen him angry. He’s mostly just a big goof ball and I really love it. I think the smartest thing he’s ever done was marry Marci. Oh and how I love the both of them! I am so pumped to be an aunt. I’m already stocking up on gum.

I'm drinking from the saucer...

My cup runneth over:
1. I am going to be an AUNT! Ryan & Marci are pregnant and I can not wait! Marci is due March 6. 2008.
2. I just got a new JOB! I work at the same place but I am now the assistant to the Marketing Director (she is the funnest, smartest person I know) I'll be helping her advertise all of our projects. I am so glad I get to learn from her. Plus, the job came with a raise...even better:)
3. I have a silly new CRUSH! He doesn't even know that I exist but I'm having the funnest time stalking him.

Payson Lake

My parents, Kade, Courtney and I went on our annual camping trip to Payson Lake. We did the math and realized we've been going for 16 years! I can remember the first time we went. Unfortunately, it wasn't quite a success. It was a dark, dreary, rainy day...I remember being smashed in the back seat of my Dad's small Toyota truck with all the camping gear. We found a wet, soggy campsite and started to set up all of our gear. Just as we finished setting everything up the campsite director told us that our site was reserved for someone else. We were still determined to camp and decided to find a different spot. SO, we plopped the tent on top of our mini van and discovered that there were no more spots...that was the last straw...we ended up driving home that night. Our first trip to Payson Lake lasted two hours and we spent it setting up and taking down our campsite.

Before
My Mom has just discovered how fun it is to make ugly faces. I think she already has it down...what do you think? What can I say...this crazy talent runs in the family. Look at Courtney's goober face. Classic!

After
Sorry! I was the photographer this trip (partly because I looked like death)... I know you're disappointed that there are no pictures of me:)

The golf tournament was a success!

(Me, My Dad and lil sis Courtney)
It did drizzle a little in the morning but it was better than sitting in 100 degree weather. It was a fun day! We ended up raising over $5,000 after paying all the bills and instead of 50% the city allowed us to donate 80% of the proceeds to PRO. Yahoo! It's exciting to know that our little golf tournament in South Jordan will help children over in Ukraine. Not a whole lot but a little. I'm excited to raise even more money for next year. New motto...Save the orphans!

We planned an entire golf tournament and all we got were these WAY CUTE HATS!

We started to catch some major speed on the golf cart. Proof...look at the wind blowing through Courtney's hair. We were going so fast my cheeks started to flap! He he...not quite that fast, but kinda fast.

Before and After
Another one of Courtney's cute faces. Isn't it shocking how ugly they can get? Wow! She is so
brave! She doesn't even care if her face gets stuck like that!

Movie Night

We finally got Gram out of the house. She broke her ankle up at the cabin and has been stuck in our basement for the past 3 weeks. We went to Wingars, our favorite Friday night spot, and saw Evan Almighty. I was the last one to enter the theater I assumed we would be sitting on the front row because that is where the wheelchair accessible seats are but no one was there. They were on the very top row. I guess my brother Ryan lugged her all the way to the top. The first thing I thought was, "I hope Grandma has her breaks on!" I envisioned someone accidentally nudging her during the movie which was just enough for her to roll off the first step and continue to roll all the way down, with her wheelchair bouncing off the wall and seats like a pinball machine (this was all in slow motion). Well, half way through the movie they had a brown out. I didn't know there was such a thing as a brown out...did you? I guess it is a black out but you still have emergency lights. My dad got on his chair and started tapping on the movie projector window trying to get someones attention. What a weirdo! We joked that it was a life or death situation and started rationing our popcorn. We sat there for a 1/2 hour for the movie to come back on but we had no such luck. It was a bummer because the movie was just getting good too. SO, we ended up back at home and I watched Some Like it Hot an oldie but goodie. I found this old (vintage) movie poster and thought it would be perfect for my blog! What a nerd...I know!

I miss you guys!

It looks like you guys are having fun! Mom told me you sent her some pictures so I had to snag them. Work is a bore without you and I am totally going to miss riding around on the golf cart with you at the golf tournament this year. Fun memories! I'm glad you sent some pictures because I was forgetting what Zach looked like...just kidding. Well, I can't wait until you come back to Utah in August but until then have lots of FUN! Hugs and kisses to the both of you!Zach and Chelsey actually live in Indianapolis, which is about 2 hours from Chicago. Zach is out selling cable networks for the summer. I hear he is quite the worker! Go get 'em Zach.
Zach and Chelsey at the Chicago Cubs game. I got a text message from her the night she was there. It was a recording of everyone singing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" during the 7th inning. I was so jealous!

South Jordan Lion's Golf Tournament

My dad and I are planning our 4th golf tournament for the South Jordan Lion's Committee. We are especially motivated to raise money this year because we get to donate half of our donations to Project Reach Out. PRO is a charity that donates 100% of their donations to 7 orphanages in Ukraine. My dad actually went to Ukraine in 05 to help gather supplies and fix up the orphanages. It breaks your heart to see these kids! My dad said when he walked into a room they would reach out their arms for a hug. I wish I could do more! If you know someone who would like to participate in the golf tournament or sponsor a hole, let me know! I can get you a sign-up sheet. The golf tournament this Thursday, July 12, 2007.

Lake Powell

My signature pose. My Mom recently put together a slide show of photos for my Dad for Fathers Day. My family was making fun of me because several of the pictures (from when I was a little girl and as recently as 2 years ago) I was making this pose. Ha ha! I think my Dad has it down pretty good...what do you think? We went to Lake Powell last weekend and got lost. It was an adventure! We ended driving all the way up to Bullfrog from Wahweap. It was a 3.5 hour drive one-way. We learned on big lesson that trip: Never go anywhere without a map! We had fun besides the big "adventure" and soaked up a lot of sun.
