Ambitious?

I wandered over to the fabric store after making my weekly trip to the library (where I typically grab several issues of this magazine and this one, oh and this one too--a girl can dream, right? Side note: I also picked up this movie it's a must see. It's the original movie You've Got Mail is based on.) I bought the pattern to make this bag. I often pretend I'm pretty crafty and can hold my own with a pair of scissors but I pulled out the pattern and it was daunting. Seriously, what's a gusset? I obviously don't know sewing lingo. It said it was for beginners--which to me means: just learned how to thread the sewing machine--so I thought I was good. I'm going to go ahead and try to make it. If it turns out too ugly I'll just gift to whoever I pick for Christmas this year. Who's gonna be the lucky one? ...I'm only half joking.

I've narrowed it down to these fabrics. I must admit there are some really hip and trendy fabrics out there. Amy Butler's rocks! I want her job! Or to at least become best friends forever.

What's your name delicate?

This video has provided us with oodles of one liners and inside jokes. We typically use one of these phrases in every conversation now. You should do it too, it brings so much joy.

"OH...okay,okay,okay...that's coo, that's coo."
"The back of yo head is ridci-uh-lous."
"Own that pony tail! Work that up do!!"
"Is he tall? Is he hefty?"
"Grace Kelly, Grace Kelly."
"Can I getcho numba?"
"Can I have it?"
"Can I receive the secret code? Can you send it telephonically?"

OMG {goodness}

Whoa, I'm speechless! I was thumbing through an old GQ article on my lunch break yesterday and found this scrumptiousness. I'm currently on the prowl for his look-a-like in Utah. He will, of course, attend church every Sunday, help little old ladies cross the street and love to snuggle. Let me know if you run into him.

He smells so good...

...it's like a yummy mixture of fresh laundry detergent and baby lotion. Yeah, it's real good. I have yet to smell a dirty diaper. Marci says that he's a little poop shy (yeah, you know what I'm talking about--remember the times when you're stuck in an uncomfortable surrounding i.e camping or a friend's house and on Monday morning you realize that you haven't gone ALL weekend--uh huh, don't pretend you don't know) I guess he only goes at his house. Which is so completely awesome for aunt Ash, I don't have to change or smell it. To be honest, I wouldn't have to change it even if I did get a whiff. Marci's an awesome Mom, she'd be on that in an instance.

Right now he's a little scared of his own tootertwinkles (that's code for FART, which was a BAD word that I wasn't allowed to say growing up, so my parents made up something ridiculous, however, I now quite enjoy saying, "eww... who just tootertwinkled?"). He bonked his head today after he let one rip. It scared him so much he fell over and hit his head on the side of the bed. Let me remind you, this was while my Mom was watching him. Unfortunately for my Mom, Cohen also decided to learn how to roll while sleeping on my parents bed (which is so tall you need a running start to get on) yep, he rolled right off as my Mom was walking in the room. *Cohen was not seriously hurt* However, the truth finally comes out and my Mom nonchalantly tells me that we all rolled off of something when were babies. And I must say I turned out absolutely PERFECT (smart as whip and cute as a button) so Marci and Cohen have nothing to worry about.

This post is mainly just to brag about how outrageously cute my little nephew is and how freakishly weird Ryan is starting to look like my Dad.

I stole these pictures from Marci's blog.

Dwight for President

I have a "Dwight" at my office. My favorite conversation to date was when he told me about his hemorrhoid surgery and how painful it was to have his first "movement".

I'm so psyched for the Office to start tonight. I was invited to an Office party and it is mandatory to dress up. ...I'm thinking I can pull off a really good Phyllis.

What the eff...

...I suck at blogging! Yep...that's right! However, I do have lots of excuses. Take work for an example, remember when I thought my job would be a piece of cake and I would have lots of time to sit around to pick my nose or something? Well, I was wrong. It's been crazy busy which is awesome but it's made me lose that lovin' feeling for blogging.

Side note: Um...I have I told you that I LOVE my job? It took me awhile to realize that it's the perfect job for me and now I can't picture myself working anywhere else. When I first started I was worried I'd taken a few steps backwards but OH...I was SO wrong! I went from worrying about the bottom line to helping people. Yep...seriously lucked out.

Other bad excuses:
1. I've been busy watering my plants (my babies) EVERY day this summer. It really is such a huge commitment (I'm gearing myself up for actual real babies...someday). Next step is a goldfish.

2. I took up a new hobby, swimming.

3. I'm lazy.

My peace offering: delightful, soothing music to the ears.

Why I haven't been blogging

I've fallen in love...with the Library. I've been catching up on some really good reads. One in particular, a book called These is my Words. I honestly could not put it down! I think it is WAY better than the Twilight series. And when I fall in love someday, I hope it's with someone like Captain Jack Elliot. Read it!I also just finished Something Borrowed. It is a little scandalous but that's how I like 'em. :) The author really captures the cattiness and competitiveness that sometimes happens between best friends.
I started watching the funniest TV show, Arrested Development. Most of you have probably already seen it but I am obsessed. I'm almost done watching all 3 seasons (go to hulu.com and watch it for free). Being the prude that I am...I can totally relate to Tobias (the never nude) and how he needs to wear blue jean cutoffs at ALL times. Seriously, it is a clever and smart show. LOVE IT!
And last but not least...I have been totally and completely obsessed with the Bachelorette! I think this has been the best season yet. I get so giddy watching it and I cannot wait for the finale tomorrow! I hope she picks Jason, although Jesse is really cute too. It 's pathetic but I 'm totally living my life through reality TV.

Lagoon Day

Emily works at American Express and every summer she gets crazy cheap tickets to Lagoon. I blogged about our past Lagoon Days here and here. This past trip was a blast. However, every year I realize that I'm getting older...I get sick way too easily and the seats on the rides are shrinking. My favorite ride there is the Jetstar. I always laugh my head off. Seriously, that ride cracks me up! Your head gets caught in a weird positions and it is next to impossible to move it back. This year I drooled all over myself because I was laughing too hard. Yuck...I know. My least favorite ride is the Rattlesnake Rappids. I hate it because I always get sopping wet and there's nothing worst then walking around in wet soggy jeans! This year was no different, everyone who didn't want to get wet got drenched and those who didn't care were bone dry. I was a wet rat for the rest of the trip AND my soggy jeans started to bleed blue dye. So, I was a weird blue tint for the rest of the day. Yep, I turned into a smurf.

Eye Candy

I'm a lucky girl. Remember those diet Coke commercials where the ladies spend their lunch breaks watching the hot construction workers while sipping a diet coke? Well, minus me drinking the diet Coke, that's how I spend a good portion of my day...staring out the window. The stable for the downtown carriage ride horses is located right behind my work. I love watching the "stable hands/cowboys" (p.s. I'm setting the scene for a sleazy romance novel) handle the animals. These guys are very rugged, strong and mysteriously GOOD LOOKING. One of these days I'm going to summon enough courage to start a conversation with one of them. My opening line will probably be something like "SO...how do you tame these wild stallions?" AND he'll reply with something like "Well...let me take you out on a date and I'll show you." Teehee.
(This is not an actual picture of my Stable Hand/Cowboy. I've yet to see one with his shirt off.)

Oh, AND I have a HOT FedEx delivery man. Um...he's Australian! And you KNOW how I dig guys with accents. Well, on Friday I was lucky to be up at the front desk when he came in. He was carrying several packages, so many he was holding the top one down with his chin. My first thought was "YES, here comes the hot delivery man". My second thought was "Wow, look how he carries ALL those packages so effortlessly." I decided I could help him out by opening the third door for him. As he walked by I said "Wow...I'm so impressed." He said (in his sexy accent) "Oh...it's nothing...I do it all day." He handed me the pen tool to sign for the packages and I thought for a split second I should drop it and do the Bend and Snap. That for sure would reel him in (I have a killer Bend and Snap). But I didn't, I signed for the packages, smiled and he was on his way. I sensed he wanted to stay and chat but you know how they have those strict schedules to keep to. Teehee.

(This is not an actual picture of my HOT FedEx delivery man. Although he's just as cute)

Bleeding Love

I like this song.

Confession:

I never finished the 3rd book of the Twilight series. I know...shocking. I LOVED the first book, enjoyed the 2nd and kinda lost interest in the 3rd. I blame it on school. I was right in the middle of it when last semester started, so finishing it went to the bottom of my list. Plus I thought Bella was a little whiny. Seriously! Who complains about having two macho men in love with you? Am I missing out? Is it worth finishing? OR should I just continue rereading the meadow scene from the 1st book?
